Budget accommodation Admiral Botel is moored on the west bank of the Vltava River close to Palackeho Bridge. The botel has been one of Prague’s landmarks since 1971, privatized in 1993 and a family-run business. Thirty-five years of service showed some wear and tear, Admiral Botel was completed overhauled and now shines in all its glory. The reception area with leather seats, polished wood and brass knobs makes you feel as if you are on an ocean liner.

Narrow corridors lead to the guest rooms. The 82 double cabins are small but very comfortable, with a tiny en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and satellite television. Some rooms sleep up to 4 guests. Admiral Botel is kid-friendly and pet-friendly. A big bonus for accommodation in the city centre is free parking in front of the botel. Riverside cabins afford views of Vysehrad, Prague’s second castle, and the Emmaus monastery with its intertwined towers. A buffet breakfast is included and a parking place for your car on the embankment in front of the botel is also included in the room rates.

The restaurant of Admiral Botel is stylishly old-fashioned with wooden ceilings and paneling. Round tables decked out with fine table linen and napkins. The menu has a generous selection of typical Czech and international dishes. On a summer evening you sit on the outside terrace which offers an enchanting view of Prague Castle.

How to get there

Admiral Botel is moored at the quay just south of Palackeho Bridge. Two metro stations close by are Karlovo namesti and Andel both on line yellow line B. Opposite Andel is Novy Smichov Shopping Centre home to 153 shops. If you like late night shopping this is your place to be as the shops are open until 9 pm. The food court is open until 10 pm and the Tesco Hypermarket until midnight.
