Cafe Savoy

Café Savoy in Prague is a charming Viennese-style café oozing with belle époque charm. From the first step in, you realise that Café Savoy is a special place. Its interior is an elegant mix of wood and marble, look up and notice the chandeliers and the seven-metre high hand-painted ceiling which is best viewed from the balcony. Savoy is one of the best places in Prague for morning coffee with a freshly baked croissant. It is also famous for very affordable lunches. Who can resist a schnitzel with potato salad, one of the best Czech lunches you can get!

Viennese Coffeehouse Atmosphere

Located in a fin de siècle building close to the Vltava River, Café Savoy is the epitome of a Viennese coffeehouse. Large windows overlook the-tree lined street and other classical buildings. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, it was the favourite haunt of dissidents who would discuss world affairs in thick clouds of tobacco smoke. Today the Savoy is a non-smoking restaurant since the ban on smoking came into force in May 2017. WiFi is free but don’t have your eyes glued to the screen because then you will miss the grandeur of the interior.
