A Brief History of the Hotel

The lounges in the hotel are named after characters from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. The original costumes of the actors from the premiere are exhibited in showcases. A broken heart made of ceramic and metal hangs above the entrance staircase and reminds of Don Giovanni the womanizer. The hotel lobby resembles a grand theater and has a life-size statue of the composer as its centerpiece.

The architecture of the building is particularly remarkable. It is a striking building that is located on a high point and can be seen from many parts in Prague, a square building with undulating walls and corner roundels that resemble a theater, the central part is a glass dome that symbolizes the broken hearts that Don Giovanni left behind.

Getting there

Zelevskeho metro station on line A is in front of the hotel. Get off at Mustek or Muzeum for the Wenceslas Square area, Staromestska is the station for the Old Town and Malostranska station if you want to go to Prague Castle.
There is also several tram stops in front of the hotel, all trams go to the centre.
