Mirror Maze in the Centre of Prague

A sense of infinity and twisted reality is what a visit to the mirror maze in Prague will give to you. This is the second mirror maze in the capital. The first one, atop Petrin Hill, is much smaller but as much fun as this newer attraction in the centre of Prague. The Mirror Maze in Prague centre consists of eighty mirrors that create a feeling of infinity. Add to this eight curving mirrors and you know why a visit to the Mirror Maze and Kaleidoscope Cinema is fun for the whole family.

NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED The Mirror Maze and distortion mirrors on Petrin Hill is open.

Optical Illusions

The Mirror Maze near Wenceslas Square is the largest mirror labyrinth in Prague and the Czech Republic. Edge your way through paths, real or optical illusions, made up of eighty mirrors. By the time you think you have discovered your way out, you bump into yet another mirror. They are made of safety glass, so no need to worry that you shatter them. The shinier the mirrors are, the more spectacular the optical effect. That’s why every visitor is wearing gloves because it is impossible not to touch the mirrors. Polishing the mirrors takes up a good hour every morning and is done before the maze opens to the public.

Distortion Mirrors

When at last you have found your way out, you can have a good laugh in the section with the distortion mirrors. Look at you from a different angle: tall, distorted, stretched out or rotund. When done with poking fun at yourself, you sink back in an easy chair in the Kaleidoscope Cinema to watch on a 70-m spherical screen two films: ‘Prague in the Whirlwind of History’ and ‘Treasures of Czech Culture’. The best beloved monument of Prague are transformed into spectacular mosaic pictures. Better than the originals? Decide for yourself after having watched the films.
