Shudder and Shiver in the Ghosts and Legends Museum
In the Ghost and Legends Museum in Prague you stand face to face with twenty-five of the city’s most famous ghosts. Some are visible and others lurk in the shadows. They peek through windows, hide behind doors or float against the ceiling. The Ghost and Legends Museum is an interactive exhibition for the whole family.
The museum is located near Charles Bridge on the Mala Strana side and consists of two parts: an underground alley and at street level the exhibition dedicated to legends.
Ground Floor Interactive Part
You will learn everything you want to know about ghosts and legends on the ground floor. Several large books entitled Genius Loci Pragensis lie open to pages full of ghost stories set in Prague. The texts are in Czech and English.
This part of the exhibition is not just texts to be read that would be very boring! You will see original illustrations on the walls, ghosts jumping out of the walls, all of whom have once lived in Prague. You will also meet the water spirit and when you look in the magic mirror, you will see yourself as a ghost.
The Underground Alley
This alley is a medieval street with dark nooks and corners. This is what Prague must have looked like at midnight, the ghostly hour, many centuries ago. In the alley, you come face to face with twenty-five of Prague’s most famous ghosts. Some you will see immediately, others lurk behind doors that are slightly ajar and others just cast a shadow on the wall. To find them all, look at the map on your ticket.
