Palffy Palac

PALFFY PALAC IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED Tucked away in a side street in Prague’s Mala Strana district, Palffy Palac is a well hidden gem. Go for fixed -price lunch menu at a very affordable price or come in the evening for the a la carte menu. During summer days you can sit on the terrace with a corner view of Prague Castle. Be sure to sample authentic Czech cuisine and order roast duck with red cabbage and dumplings.

A Feast for the Eyes

Located in a seventeenth-century palace, Palffy Palac oozes with old-age charm. The eye catcher in the dining room is an imposing chandelier. Let your eye travel across the photos of Prague in the old days before you sit down at one of tables. As each table is laid out slightly differently, it gives you a feeling of uniqueness. On a summer evening, you can sit on the large terrace overlooking the red rooftops of Stare Mesto, the Old Town district of Prague.

A Feats for the Taste Buds

The lunch offer consists of a two-course or a three-course meal. Every day the menu is different, but you always can choose from two main dishes. This set lunch is an excellent way to have a meal in authentic Baroque settings at very affordable prices. The evening a la carte menu offers more choice but is also more expensive. Meat dishes, such as beef tenderloin and lamb shoulder, make it difficult for meat-lovers what to order, but you can always come back the next day to try another dish. Vegetarian will be happy to see that there is always one vegetarian dish. Chocolate ‘Moelleux’ is a delicious way to end your meal: vanilla ice-cream smothered in strawberry sauce and sprinkled with Sichuan pepper. If that is not to your liking simply go for coffee with centered-filled chocolates.
