The Original Beer Experience all you want to know about Pilsner Urquell

The Original Beer Experience is an interactive tour that tells the story of Pilsner Urquell, the best beer in the world. During the self-guided tour you will learn everything about Pilsner Urquell through 3D audio and video mapping. Finally, you will taste different flavours of Pilsner Urquell or Plzeňský Prazdroj as the Czechs call this beer from the city of Pilsen.

See, hear and feel how the beer is brewed and finish the tour with a beer tasting session. Everyone, including children, is welcome. The beer tasting is only for 18 years and older.

Original Beer Experience Tour

The 90-minute Original Beer Experience tour takes you back in time through means of an audio guide, video mapping, light shows and projection explaining how lager beer is brewed. You will feel the heat of the brew house and the cold in the cellars. You will also learn why the foam head is so important and how to tap a perfect beer. Then you can enjoy yourself in the 360° interactive gaming zone. Finally, you will go to the Beer Hall for the beer tasting session. End your visit in the brand store where you can buy a beer mug engraved with your name.

The audio guide is in English, Czech, French, German, Spanish and Italian and starts automatically at the right place when you enter a room.

Tapster Academy

A second tour, not included in the Original Beer Experience, is the Tapster Academy where you learn how to tap beer in three different ways.
Mlíko – with a lot of foam, tastes slightly sweet
Snýt – with more than half foam, also tastes a bit sweet
Hladinka – with a foam head of about three fingers

Location

The Original Beer Experience is located in an Art Nouveau building off Wenceslas Square, originally built for the Prague Credit Bank. When you walk into the hall you will see large arches where the bank clerks used to sit.

You can drink a beer at street level in Výčep u Zvonu, a beer garden where everyone is welcome, also without a tour ticket.
