The Playground Toy Shop and Arcade Games
The Playground in the centre of Prague is an entertainment centre combined with a toy shop and arcade games and virtual reality entertainment featuring the legend of the Golem, the Last Stand, a VR game, where you have to shoot zombies that haunt Prague. There is a carousel, shelves full of toys, laser games, a mirror maze and lots of butterflies. In short, a ‘playground’ for everyone from 3 to 99.
Playground for the Whole Family
The Playground is a three-storey family entertainment centre on Prague’s main shopping street, Na Prikope. There are all kinds of activities and attractions suitable for children, teenagers and adults. They range from classic fairground rides to modern high-tech games. There is also a section that is ‘just’ a toy shop where you can buy toys, cosmetics, collectibles and sweets.
The Attractions in The Playground
In the middle of The Playground is a life-size carousel with horses and royal carriages. Other attractions include a mirror maze with light and sound effects, arcade games and a race track with remote-controlled cars and hydraulic excavators.
For fans of modern technology, a DIVR labs virtual reality attraction offers three exciting games. The adventurous Golem takes you to 16th-century Prague. A creepy Arachnoid throws you into a secret underground laboratory and in the Last Stand you have to save the earth from zombies.
In the Mercuria Laser Game Arena you will find yourself in Asia, the USA, France or icy Antarctica where you compete individually or in teams of two to twelve people.
In the Papilonia Butterfly House you are in a tropical forest with a temperature of 28°C. Butterflies everywhere: on branches, on flowers and fluttering around. There are a total of almost 600 specimens.
And when you have seen everything, the fastest way to get back to the ground floor is via a giant slide!
The Playground Card and Credits
Buy from the information centre a card with credits which you will need for most attractions. There are three options
1. Basic: 12 credits. It allows you to go to the mirror maze or have a ride in the carousel and play three games in the arcade.
2. Pro: 22 credits. More arcade games and attractions such as the Mirror Maze AND the Carousel etc.
3. Epic: 50 credits. With this package, you have enough credits to play every game in the arcade and much more.
Virtual Reality, Laser Game and the Papilonia Butterfly House are not included. But if you have a Playground card, you get a discount.
The card is transferable, i.e. if you don’t use all your credits, you can give the card to someone else who can continue playing with it and put more credits on it.
Some attractions are free for very young children: Hubelino and Plus-Plus (plastic bricks), Brio wooden trains and tracks, the Kinetic Sand water game, where children can play with sand that easily keeps its shape.
You will have to pay for the toilets but you get a voucher that you exchange for purchases in the shop but not in the café.
eTickets
You collect at each attraction, ride or game eTickets that you exchange for gifts in the arcade shop. Everyone collects enough eTickets for a lollipop, but the more expensive items clearly require more eTickets.
